My name's Darby, a Toronto-based Creative & Brand Strategist who guides women in business through the ups and downs of our ever-changing digitized world.

I pride myself on being an expert communications strategist, marketing specialist, and branding tactician.

I work with strong, independent women across the globe, assisting them in achieving their biggest and boldest business goals! 

Whether we’re focusing on building connections on IG, writing an email sequence, or revamping a FB page - I do everything in my power to impress and empower my clients.

Outside of business, I enjoy fostering animals in need of rehabilitation or who are immature/ nursing. It’s extremely gratifying to witness such vulnerable creatures turn into confident and charismatic companions, who are ready to find their ‘forever homes’.

  • Creatures

    I solely founded the #1 animal-focused publication on Medium.com, titled ‘Creatures’. As the Editor-in-Chief, I managed two editors, 250+ writers on the roster, as well as all marketing and backend aspects of the publication i.e. analytics, SEO, digital presence, media inquiries, etc.

    Creatures brought in 65,000+ minutes of read time a month, held over 2.2K followers, and was featured by several influencers as one of their favourite publications, via Medium, YouTube, Facebook, and more.

    I decided to discontinue the publication in late 2021, as I wanted to dedicate all my energy into helping entrepreneurs achieve their creative dreams.

  • Professional Communication

    I hold a bachelors degree (honours) in Professional Communication with a minor in Sales Management and Service Quality.

    I attended Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

    One of the best parts of being a student in the city, was how immersed I felt in the hustle and bustle of reality. Throughout my four years of my study, I worked multiple jobs, had the opportunity of networking with countless incredible entrepreneurs, and made meaningful contacts, that I truly don’t believe I would have made at a campus-style school.

  • Build Your Voice (BYV)

    During the first wave of Covid-19, I connected with writers I met through Medium and asked if they were interested in attending an online seminar focused on how to get started as a writer on the platform.

    To my surprise, there were many of creatives interested in participating, so I proceeded with the project and it went swimmingly!

    After that initial success, I continued with the journey and fleshed out ‘Build Your Voice’ (BYV) - a collaborative mentorship initiative focused on helping aspiring creatives be victorious in their current and future ventures.

    I stepped back from BYV to expand my horizons and start working with clients 1:1 and long term.
